We’re delighted to announce that Matrix have clinched a prestigious industry accolade for our groundbreaking innovation in renewable technology! The cutting-edge solution, which ensures 24/7 heating, hot water, and care support for a family in Parbold, Wigan, has earned us the coveted Renewable Project of the Year – Private Category at the esteemed H&V News Awards.
In collaboration with Viessmann Ltd, a global leader in heating, cooling, and air-conditioning tech, we delivered a state-of-the-art renewable heating system for the Davies family. The installation is a triumph of engineering, combining reliability, sustainability, and cost efficiency to meet the 24-hour care needs of the family’s son while drastically reducing their carbon footprint and shielding them from rising energy prices.
The award-winning system integrates two Viessmann Vitocal 350-A 14 kW air source heat pumps, a 300L Vitocell 300 cylinder, and two sets of 40 Vitosol 300-T solar thermal evacuated tubes, all orchestrated by the intelligent Vitotronic 200 controls. Together, these technologies work seamlessly to deliver optimal energy efficiency. By day, solar energy collected by the Vitosol 300-T tubes feeds into a hot water cylinder, while the air source heat pumps provide continuous hot water and power the underfloor heating across 18 rooms.
This project is a shining example of how innovative technology can transform a family’s life. The system will deliver savings of over £5,700 a year compared to an oil boiler solution, and the family will also benefit from £3,600 annually through the Feed-In-Tariff and Renewable Heat Incentive schemes.
